Stratford man injured in vehicle vs. cow crash

Atwood —  

A Stratford man was injured early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident on state Highway 1, five and one-half miles west of Atwood in Hughes County.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Anthony Martinez, 19, was driving a 2000 Dodge four-door west on SH1 when the vehicle struck a cow in the road. The vehicle continued for approximately 264 feet before striking a fence. Martinez was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma with head and arm injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, Gergorio Cortez, 26, Ada, was treated and released with head and neck injuries.
