Ada —

Two women who were allegedly found with drugs and a gun were charged in Pontotoc County District Court Wednesday.

Christie Dawn Harris, 26, Moore, and Jennifer Delancy, 26, Oklahoma City, were each charged with trafficking in illegal drugs (methamphetamine) and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.

Harris received an additional charge of bringing contraband into jail.

Police approached a suspicious vehicle March 4 in the 800 block of West Main and questioned Harris and Delancy who were inside the vehicle. After refusing to let police search the car, a drug dog was brought to the scene and “hit” on the car. Police allegedly discovered pills, bags with a crystal substance inside, drug paraphernalia and a gun under the front seat.

Harris and Delancy were arrested and taken to Pontotoc County Justice Center. During a search, Harris was found to have a loaded pistol inside a region of her body and two bags containing methamphetamine  between her clenched buttocks, according to authorities.

Harris and Dalancy are being held on $50,000 bond each and are scheduled to reappear in court April 3.
