Human remains ID'd

Ada — Human remains found in mid-April have been confirmed as that of missing Ada man Charles Manuel.

Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian said the remains were identified by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death was listed as undetermined. Christian said the investigation into what happened to Manuel will continue.

The remains were discovered a few miles south of Pickett by an area rancher. The remains were found in an area where Manuel was last seen in March.

“The location is near where he was last seen walking from a residence,” Christian said.
