The Ada News
An Ada man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 377.
Marciano Lopez-Perez, 25, was riding in a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Ada resident Fernando Rojas, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Rojas, 31, was northbound on U.S. 377 when he ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and crossed the highway before striking the left bar ditch. The truck rolled once, coming to rest on its wheels, and Lopez-Perez was ejected approximately 90 feet from the point of rest.
Lopez-Perez was taken to Valley View Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead of his injuries, according to the OHP. Another passenger, 25-year-old Ada resident Sandra Castro, was treated for internal trunk injuries and released.
A third passenger, 3-year-old Allisson Castro of Ada, was not hurt. She was the only passenger wearing a seat belt.
Rojas was admitted to Valley View in stable condition with internal trunk, head and leg injuries.
The OHP report said that Rojas was driving under the influence of alcohol.
