Ada police are investigating vandalism to an expensive vehicle which took place at a car lot Sunday.
Police were called when a man looking at vehicles heard banging noises and children playing around in the back lot of Ada Dodge, according to a report by Officer Corey Boyd. The good Samaritan pointed the officers to a corner of the lot where he saw the kids.
“When we walked to the back portion of the lot we were unable to locate any juveniles but did observe a vehicle with damage,” Boyd said. “I observed a black 2014 Dodge Durango R/T with the rear driver side window broken out and numerous dents down the side of the vehicle.”
Officials notified the owner of Ada Dodge, Shane Johnson.
“(Johnson) stated that the Durango was one of the newest vehicles on the lot and estimated the damage to be about $5,000,” Boyd said. “(The good Samaritan) stated all he saw of the two juveniles was dark brown hair and (children who were approximately) 9 years old. It appeared the juveniles crawled under the back fence and headed toward a housing addition to the (west).”
Police searched, but were unable to locate the two juveniles. Anyone with information on this or any crime can phone Ada CrimeStoppers at 33CATCH (332-2824), report the information and remain anonymous.
