Judge issues gag order in Jason Smeltz case

Oklahoma City —

Pontotoc County Special District Judge C. Steven Kessinger has signed a gag order concerning two "probable cause" affidavits of the state vs. Vincent Jason Smeltz.

Smeltz, a former Ada firefighter, has been at odds with Ada police and others since the night his wife was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication charge April 24.

Smeltz has maintained his wife should not have been arrested because, in his opinion, she was not intoxicated. Police arrested her, along with another woman who was driving the vehicle and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
