Council OKs study of water costs

Ada — Housekeeping items dominated the Ada City Council’s agenda on Monday.

The council approved an agreement with the Dallas-based firm, which will analyze the cost of providing water, sewer and sanitation service to Ada residents. The study will help the city develop rate plans that will generate enough money to fund the cost of those services while holding down rates as much as possible.

The city will pay approximately $64,300 for the study, which will include recommendations for setting other utility fees.

In other business, the council approved a request to provide assistance for the Ada Air Expo and Ray Stout Memorial Fly-in, set for June 6 and 7, 2014, at the Ada Municipal Airport.
