Three candidates running for Ada City Council

Ada —

Three candidates are seeking seats on the Ada City Council this spring.

Ben McFarlane, who was recently appointed to the council to fill former Councilman Shane Sweeney’s unexpired term, is running unopposed in Ward 2.

The race for the 4th Ward seat pits incumbent Guy Sewell against newcomer Jason Smeltz. Sewell is a professor of environmental health sciences at East Central University, and Smeltz is a former Ada firefighter.

The primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4.
