Theater names DiMiceli vocal coach for Les Misérables

Ada —

The challenging task of directing vocal music for Ardmore Little Theatre’s July presentation of the smash stage show Les Misérables will be faced by Jeff DiMiceli of Ardmore.

A McAlester native, DiMiceli earned a bachelor of music degree at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, and a master of music degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, then spent more than 25 years as the worship and creative minister for churches in Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. He also had a 16-year career leading musical organizations and stage productions in the tri-state area as well as being guest choral conductor and clinician for events in the U.S. and oversees.

As vice president of creative and event services for Premier Designs Inc., Irving, Texas, DeMiceli was producer and musical director for stage, variety shows, and live and video vignettes playing regularly to audiences of more than 10,000 in some of the nation’s largest convention centers, resorts and theaters. He established the Premier Designs Singers, a performing group featured in many of the live productions, and regularly served as a recording producer, composer, jingle writer and consultant.

Now in Ardmore, DiMiceli serves as events coordinator for the Ardmore Main Street Authority. His wife is an Ardmore native, née Ruanna Rainbolt.

Les Misérables will be DiMiceli’s first effort with Ardmore Little Theatre, whose July performances will be the first community theatre staging in Oklahoma as the show was only recently released for full production by amateur troupes.

The ALT production will be directed by Dell McLain of Durant.  McLain served as director of theater at Southeastern Oklahoma State University for 12 years and is now chair of the Department of Art, Communication and Theatre.  He previously taught at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah and Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
