Property owners reject Ada annexation proposal

Ada —

A proposal to expand Ada’s boundaries has upset some landowners who don’t want their property to be annexed into the city.

Earlier this month, the Ada City Council considered a proposal to annex property south of state Highway 3W and east of Kerr Lab into the city limits. One parcel of land was in the subdivision owned by Pontotoc County resident Pat Engel, the other parcel next to the subdivision.

The council postponed its decision until Sept. 16, giving officials more time to answer landowners’ questions about the proposal.
