City of Ada wants nominees for Christmas Decorating Contest

Ada — The City of Ada invites residents and businesses to show off their Christmas spirit by entering its Christmas Decorating Contest sponsored by Citizens Bank of Ada.

There is no cost to enter the contest, which is open to all residents and businesses within Ada city limits.

Certificates and cash prizes will be awarded for Best Decorated in two categories, residential and commercial.

The Ada Police Department will select the winners.  Cash prizes will be $150 for first, $100 for second and $50 for third for each category and will be judged on originality/creativity, attractiveness, and design/theme.

Only those decorations visible from the street will be judged.  All contest entrants are encouraged to nominate themselves, as well as their neighbors and friends. The deadline for nominations will be 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9.

Judging will take place on Thursday, Dec. 12. Participants are asked to leave their lights on from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The awards presentation will be during the Ada City Council Meeting on Dec. 16. The meeting begins at 5:45 pm at Ada City Hall.
