Oklahoma City Thunder makes former Ada woman's dream come true

Ada —

A former Ada woman’s dream came true when she recently earned a spot on the Oklahoma City Thunder Girls dance team.

Katie Callaway, an Ada High School graduate, earned her way onto the team before a packed house at Showcase Theater in Riverwind Casino Aug. 8. Callaway impressed a panel of judges which included not only OKC Thunder staff but Gary England of News 9 and Miss Oklahoma Kelsey Griswold.

“I’m very fortunate,” Callaway said. “I am still in shock. I don’t think it has sunk in, because we haven’t even had a practice yet. I think once that starts I’ll get the feel of what it’s going to be like. Right now, I’m just excited and ready to go.”
