Veteran surgeon Waddell joins Mercy Clinic Ada

Ada — Mercy Clinic Ada welcomes Robert “Bob” Waddell, M.D. – a 35 year veteran in the field of general surgery.

“I have practiced general surgery in this community for more than fifteen years,” said Dr. Waddell. “There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not able to do something for someone that helps them. That’s what practicing medicine is all about to me, helping people.”

A 1974 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Waddell completed his internship and residency at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, and has practiced in Sherman, Texas, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Texas and most recently at his private practice in Ada.

“Health care is changing and I want to be part of the movement,” said Dr. Waddell, “Joining Mercy Clinic affords my patients the opportunity to continue going to a physician they know and trust while gaining access to the perks of Mercy electronic health record and resources such as My-Mercy – the patient’s access point to those health records.”

Along with being a general surgeon, Dr. Waddell and his family own and operate a local vineyard, Waddell Vineyards. When he isn’t in surgery or growing grapes, you might catch him playing a quick eighteen holes of golf at Oak Hills.

“I am a member of this community,” said Dr. Waddell. “I treat each patient as if they were a family member, providing personalized care for each one of them.”

Mercy Clinic Surgery is located at 435 N. Monte Vista. To schedule an appointment, please call (580) 310-0102.
