Teen dies in car crash

Wetumka — A Wetumka teen died in a single vehicle accident Tuesday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Scott Aldridge said 14-year-old Tamara Huff died after the vehicle she was driving rolled.

Huff was driving a 2005 Dodge west on a county road just north of Wetumka at 9:30 p.m. when the accident occurred.

Aldridge said Huff lost control of the vehicle, which began to slide sideways and rolled two times, coming to rest on its wheels.

“(Huff) was taken by Hughes County EMS to a Wetumka helicopter pad where she expired due to massive injuries,” Aldridge said.

Two passengers in the vehicle, Jonathan Grice, 17, and Gregory Foley, 20, both of Wetumka, were not injured. Aldridge listed the cause of the accident as unsafe speed for type of roadway and said seat belts were not in use by some occupants.
