Latta resident now a homeowner

Ada — Donna Hendrix is moving into the home of her dreams, thanks to hard work and Tri-County Indian Nations Community Development Corp.

Hendrix was thrilled to move into her new three-bedroom/two-bath home built in Latta. Hendrix applied for the house through Tri-County’s Self Help Housing Program. Through the program, potential homeowners can get a new home built through a low-interest rural development loan. The program was designed to assist low-income citizens to become homeowners.

As part of the agreement, Hendrix, along with her brother, Eddie Little, installed the house’s insulation, selected the interior paint color, painted the walls and kept the place clean while construction was going on.

Through the program, those who are accepted will have no down payment and payments are adjusted to the person’s income. Also, qualified applicants can choose from three- or four-bedroom plans — depending on family size — and decoration choices.

Anyone interested in applying or wanting more information can speak with Carolyn Hill at Tri-County’s Ada office at 1306 E. Arlington in Ada, or call at 580-310-9300. Tri-County is on Facebook at www.facebook.com/tricountyok.
