Flu shuts down Konawa Schools

Ada —

Konawa Schools will be closed the rest of this week due to a flu outbreak among students and staffers, Superintendent Joe Sharber II said Wednesday.

The schools will shut down Thursday and Friday, but they will reopen on Monday, Sharber said. He added that staffers will deep clean and sanitize the buildings to prevent an additional outbreak.

Sharber estimated that more than 120 students and several staffers are out with the flu.
