Ada —

A nursing home worker has been arrested and accused of food stamp fraud by allegedly running up purchases of nearly a thousand dollars on three purchases with another woman’s card.

Audra Casey of Stonewall, an employee with Jan Francis Nursing Home in Ada, was arrested Thursday at her home by Joe Glover, an inspector with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office (OIG). That SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) card, normally known as the federal food stamp program, was for a 60-year-old nursing home patient who is confined to a wheelchair.

Casey is accused of agreeing to pick up a few items like chips and soda pop for the patient by using the woman’s SNAP card.
