Former deputy arrested, jailed

Ada —  

     A troubled former law enforcement officer is behind bars as the result of a domestic altercation Sunday at the home of the man’s former wife and five children, who were in the home at the time of the incident.

      According to a report from the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office, Chris Bittle allegedly broke into the home of his ex-wife, Nicole Bittle, west of Ada around 3 a.m. Sunday and allegedly attacked Ms. Bittle’s current boyfriend, Jake Durham.

      The Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department wound up having to use a Taser gun before subduing Bittle so he could be arrested on the following charges:

• Assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

• Child endangerment.

• Domestic violence in the presence of a minor.

• Malicious injury to property.

• Resisting arrest.
