Cold nights will prevent early gardening here

Ada —

It happened Wednesday, but you'd never know it.

Spring sprung that day at approximately 7 a.m.

Ever since then, it's been cold, wet and windy.

Don't look for that to change anytime real soon.

A large swath of the nation is getting snow. While that isn't in the forecast for Ada, weather officials in Norman are saying your plans for planting spring veggies probably should be put off at least a week to be on the safe side.

Nightly temperatures will not get above freezing until Tuesday, when a low of 35 is expected.

Adans won't see 70 again until Friday, but another front — bringing rain and cooler temperatures — is expected to cool things down again this week.
