Shots fired at local school; woman arrested

Konawa — A Konawa woman was arrested after she allegedly discharged a firearm on Konawa Schools property Saturday evening.

According to Konawa Assistant Police Chief Jason Teel, no one was injured but 27-year-old Konawa resident Summer Shaw was arrested and taken to Seminole County Jail.

Teel said Shaw went to the gymnasium, armed with a gun, to confront her grandfather who has custody of her two children. Teel said police believe Shaw was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time.

Family members managed to get Shaw outside, where an argument and a subsequent scuffle ensued. Teel said Shaw reached for the gun in her pocket when it went off. Family members held Shaw down until police arrived, Teel said.
