Oklahoma City woman killed in Coal County wreck

Coalgate — An Oklahoma City woman was killed in a three-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning in Coal County.

Rebecca Ford, 52, was pronounced dead at the Coalgate Hospital in Coalgate.

The accident occurred at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday on State Highway 3, two and a half miles west of the U.S. Highway 75 junction, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Coalgate resident Logan Reed and Ford were westbound on SH 3 when an eastbound 2001 Freightliner semitruck, driven by Enid resident Perell Monday, crossed the center line and struck Reed’s horse trailer.

Ford moved onto the westbound shoulder in an attempt to evade Monday’s truck, but the truck hit her 2005 Nissan, according to the OHP. Ford was pinned in her vehicle for about 45 minutes before she was pulled out by the Coalgate Fire Department.

Monday was in sleepy condition when the wreck occurred, but the other two drivers were in normal condition, according to the OHP. Monday was not wearing a seat belt, but Reed and Ford were using their seat belts.

Neither Monday nor Reed were injured.
