Ada —

The Care Cottage child advocacy center and Rib Crib BBQ and Grill are teaming up to help victims of child abuse.

On Monday, the restaurant will donate a portion of the day’s sales to Care Cottage, said Gwen Gjovig, executive director of Care Cottage and the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. People who eat at Rib Crib between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. that day can hand their server a flyer about the fundraiser or simply tell the server they want to support Care Cottage.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help cover the center’s operating costs.

Rib Crib general manager Michael Graham said restaurant staffers were looking forward to the fundraiser.

“We’re excited to help and participate,” he said.

Care Cottage was set up in 2004 to help agencies investigate, treat and prosecute cases of child abuse, Gjovig said. The center provides a neutral, child-friendly setting where victims can be interviewed and receive treatment.
