Ada police make several arrests

Ada —

After a busy weekend of intoxicated drivers and domestic strife, Ada police have had a reasonably peaceful week last week — not that it’s been all bliss.

A lot of Ada-area residents continue to drive without insurance and without a license, and as always, some continue to drink and drive. They continue to get caught at it, too.

For instance:

Police stopped a 47-year-old man, Miguel Acuna Corona, just before 8 a.m. Wednesday at Arlington and Rennie. Corona, who listed a Bent Tree address in the 2100 block in Ada, could not produce a valid driver’s license and was arrested.

So was John Marcus David, 22, Coalgate. He couldn’t produce a driver’s license when he was stopped Wednesday. He was also not properly wearing his seatbelt, according to the police report.

Another stop that led to the arrest of a Francis woman took place in Mazzio’s parking lot on Lonnie Abbott Boulevard.

Police arrested Carol Ann Wainscott, 50, who lives in the 300 block of 12th Street in Francis. She was arrested on suspicion of being APC (actual physical control of a motor vehicle) while under the influence of intoxicants.

Other than that, it was a fairly quiet day for Ada police.
