The Ada City Council chose sites for the city’s new police and fire stations Monday.
The council voted 5-0 to build the new police station at East Central Boulevard and Cradduck Road and put the fire station at 14th and Broadway, depending on whether the city can acquire those properties. The police station would include space for a 911 communications department.
The council was following the advice of the Community Advisory Board, which oversees the development of several capital improvement projects including the fire and police stations. After studying the possibility of building the new police and fire stations at a single site, the CAB recommended putting the police station at East Central and Cradduck and the fire station at 14th and Broadway.
