One man stabbed, one arrested

Ada — An Ada man was stabbed Thursday and another man was arrested as a suspect.

Arrested was 55-year-old Glen Lloyd Nokes. Police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of N. Texas Street Thursday evening.

“Upon arrival, I met with the victim, Anthony Garcia III, in the front yard of the residence,” Ada police officer Jason Mosley wrote in a report. “(Garcia) was bleeding from a stab wound on his right lower arm and a stab wound to his right chest area.”

Nokes was arrested after he came out of the house with “blood all over his hands,” Mosley wrote. Officers arrested Nokes and discovered a folding knife (believed to be the weapon used in the alleged assault) clipped to Nokes’ belt loop, according to Mosley.

A witness said Nokes stabbed Garcia during an altercation. She reportedly told police she was roommates with Nokes. She said the altercation occurred after Nokes got home from work and, she believed, he “was jealous that Garcia was there.”

Both the witness and Garcia told police Nokes attacked Garcia as he was leaving the house. Garcia was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for his wounds.

There was no word on his condition at press time Saturday.

“Before Garcia left in the ambulance, he told me he was wearing a leather motorcycle jacket that probably kept him from being stabbed more times,” Mosley wrote. “I found the jacket in the garage where (Garcia) laid it after he took it off. I saw multiple places where there were cuts on the jacket.”

Nokes was arrested on suspicion of having a warrant and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
