Ada firefighter Danny Manuel to be featured on Season 6 of NBC's American Ninja Warrior, beginning Monday

Edmond — Ada firefighter Danny Manuel is among the competitors on the sixth season of American Ninja Warrior, which begins airing at 8 p.m. Monday on NBC.

The competition has already been decided, including which contestants made the finals.

Try as we might, Manuel refused to tell his hometown newspaper whether he won or lost, or made the finals in Las Vegas scheduled for September.

All of the competitors have been legally signed to a gag order, which, if violated, could cost the squealer $2 million and jail time.

Needless to say, Manuel wasn’t singing.

He did have other things to say though.

“I loved it. It was an incredible experience. I’m thankful to God and I learned a lot. I was able to share my faith. Whether they show it or not, I have it written on my back,” he said.

Manuel competed shirtless, and that provided a slate for these words:

“Jesus loves the little children. I follow Jesus.”

He admits his wife Janel is still a little passive about the whole experience, but his kids can’t wait for the new season to begin.

A camera crew came to Ada and spent a day with him. He’s not sure whether that footage will be shown.

 He left us with this:

“If I did good enough the first night, people here should see me in a city qualifier round. If I did well enough in that round, they could see me in a final round in Dallas. If I did well enough there, they should see me in Vegas in September.

The key word is, of course, “if.”
