Marijuana What marijuana?

Ada —

People who think police officers make too much money ought to ride along with patrol officer Phillip Wood some night.

The Ada police officer was dispatched to the emergency room of Valley View Regional  Hospital Tuesday night to assist a hospital official who reported that a patient had been consuming illegal drugs in his hospital room.

A hospital representative, Billy Sanford, told Wood an employee had found a burned marijuana cigarette in the chair where patient Christopher Arless, 34, had been sitting.

Arless was in the hospital because of a leg injury.

When Wood first saw Arless out in the hospital parking area with Sanford, the  Ada man told him he had been taking Lortabs. “What is this all about,” Arless asked the officer rhetorically. “Is it about the roach?”

Sure enough it was, "roach" being one of the buzz words for a marijuana joint.

Wood had Arless walk to the back of the patrol car, taking the man’s drink as he passed by him.
