Stonewall names teacher of the year

Stonewall — Shonda Denson was recently named as Stonewall teacher of the year for 2013-2014. She has been a high school mathematics teacher for 27 years. 

Denson is a Coalgate graduate and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She received her BA of science in education and MA in mathematics education. She is also nationally board certified in adolescence and young adulthood mathematics.

Denson has been employed with Stonewall Schools for the past 19 years. She co-advices the student council and has been a class sponsor throughout  the years. 

Teaching positions have been held in Savanna, McAlester and Seminole Junior College.

Other recipients of Stonewall Teacher of the Year honors include Gina Banta, elementary teacher of the year, and Kim Miller, McLish teacher of the year.
