Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle wreck just south of Ada.
The crash occurred at the intersection of County Road 3 Drive and CR 3590 shortly before 1 p.m. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Bagwell said 39-year-old Lucky Sue Griffin of Ada was driving north on CR 3590 in a Buick sedan when, after stopping at a stop sign, she pulled into the path of another vehicle, traveling west on 3 Drive.
The vehicles collided and left the roadway, coming to rest in a ditch. The other vehicle, a late-model Jeep driven by 49-year-old Lenie Payne of Sulphur, overturned and landed on its roof. Griffin, Payne and a passenger in the Jeep, 48-year-old Vicki Collins of Stonewall, were placed in ambulances by Ada and Union Valley firefighters and Mercy EMS.
Griffin was taken to Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada and Payne and Collins were taken to Mercy Hospital Ada. All were treated for abrasions and lacerations and released.
Bagwell said Griffin was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from stop sign. Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputies and Chickasaw Lighthorse police also responded.
