Doctors Park Pharmacy changes ownership

Ada —

The former owners of Doctors Park Pharmacy have turned their business over to another couple.

Former owner Ted Smith retired in late December after spending 41 years as a pharmacist, including 21 years as the owner of Doctors Park. Smith and his wife, Alicia, have sold their business to Ada residents Aaron and Johnna Heilaman.

The Smiths moved from Norman to Ada in 1992 and bought Doctors Park, according to information from Johnna Heilaman.

“Alicia was born and raised in Ada with family throughout the Ada area, and Ted had a love of smaller towns, so both felt it was a great opportunity to live and grow a family business in Ada,” she wrote.

Heilaman said that she and her husband will maintain the same level of service.

Heilaman said her husband, Aaron, has worked as a pharmacist for Indian Health Services and for a chain of pharmacies. He most recently worked for an independent pharmacy, which is his passion.

“In smaller independent pharmacies, you can take the time to know your patients and give them personal consults on their health concerns and needs,” Aaron said.
