4-H members named to 4-H Hall of Fame

Angel Wade and Katelyn Wade were added to the Pontotoc County 4-H Hall of Fame at the annual Pontotoc County 4-H Achievement Banquet.  Each of these outstanding 4-H members received a $750 Boone Jones Endowed 4-H Scholarship, senior achievement award and a $50 award sponsored by Vision Bank.  The Hall of Fame portraits are sponsored by McCoy-Callison Photography and Citizens Bank of Ada.

Angel Wade has been a 4-H member in Pontotoc County since the age of nine and is a member of the Meat Science 4-H Club.  Her main 4-H projects have included leadership, citizenship, public speaking and food science.  

During her 7 years as a 4-H member, Angel Wade has worked with preschoolers to nursing home residents in her efforts to Make the Best Better.  She has conducted 60 workshops and interactive displays reaching more than 33,000 youth and adults.  She has also participated in 75 community service projects and provided 381 hours of leadership to the 4-H program.  Her favorite leadership activity is spending time with 5- 8 year old Cloverbuds.  

Angel has served on the Pontotoc County teen leadership team for 5 years.  She is currently a State 4-H Ambassador and a State 4-H Council representative from the Southeast District.  She is an Oklahoma 4-H Key Club member.  She was a 2012 state 4-H project finalist in food science. Angel has traveled to Kansas City and Denver with 4-H and  will represent Pontotoc County and Oklahoma 4-H at 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington, D.C., this summer. She has also been honored with the I Dare You Leadership award, senior achievement award and senior blue award group.   

Wade is a junior at Byng High School where she is a member of FFA and a member of the State FFA champion nursery judging team.  She has also served her chapter as Sentinel.  She has participated in Gear Up and gifted and talented.  She is the daughter of Tony and Kim Wade, Ada.
