Ada —

The Pontotoc County commissioners accepted the resignation of a trustee from the Pontotoc County Public Facilities Authority Trust and also approved of his replacement during a brief regular Monday meeting of the commission court.

As a result of the vote, the commission accepted the resignation of Steve Turner, who resigned at East Central University to accept the position of president at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

Replacing him on the Pontotoc County Public Facilities Authority on an interim basis is expected to be former county commissioner, Winford Wood, though no action was taken Monday.

The commission also took no action on getting the courthouse roof inspected, but did approve an interlocal  agreement between Pontotoc County and the city of for oiling and chipping Seabrook Road, the costs of which are being absorbed by the Chickasaw Nation.

For the third week in a row, the commission tabled a decision on a District 3 purchase of a 2010 or newer backhoe for District 3, at the request of District 3 Commissioner, Justin Roberts.

Otherwise, the commission went over its usual lists of items without making any changes.
