Students at local dance studio compete for state teen crown

Ada — Central Oklahoma Dance Center students compete for Miss Oklahoma Outstanding Teen the first week in June.

Three students at Central Oklahoma Dance Center will be vying for the Miss Oklahoma crown the first week of June. 

Carli Manwell, Miss Ada's Outstanding Teen, will pointe dance and is competeting on the platform of Fostering Hope for all Children. Manwell has held fundraisers and contributed her time to support foster children in Pontotoc County.

Joei Whisenant represents Edmond as Miss Edmond LibertyFest's Outstanding Teen and will be singing for her talent. Her platform, S.T.A.T. is a four-step program to making good decisions. She encourages children and teens to make positive choices by Setting standards, Thinking, Avoiding harmful situations, and in the end, Trusting their choices. 

Nicole Lowry is Miss Southwestern's Outstanding Teen. Her talent is jazz dance and her platform is Mission for Meals. As a volunteer, she has helped provide food for many different families in her community. She wishes to motivate community members to volunteer and donate to missions that feed hungry families. 

"It is our desire that all three students  will do their personal best in the upcoming Miss Oklahoma Pageant," said Cara Crawford, owner and director of Central Oklahoma Dance Center.
