Ada — An Ada man was charged with three felonies Monday in connection with a crash which occurred Friday.

Jesse Lee Dalton Pratt, 36, Ada, was charged with child endangerment by driving under the influence, driving under the influence-second and subsequent and possession of a controlled dangerous substance- second and subsequent.

The wreck occurred in the 1000 block of W. Main Street at 2:43 p.m. According to Ada Police Officer Kevin Heck, Pratt was driving a 1993 Ford Explorer east on Main Street when he ran off the road to the right and crashed into an electric lamp post and then into a parked car. The impact destroyed the lamp post but only caused minor damage to the car parked in a used car lot.

Two children, ages 4 and 7, were riding as unrestrained passengers in the vehicle when the crash occurred, according to Heck.

“Sergeant Jason Mosley [reported] two spider cracks in the windshield of the passenger side of the vehicle that appeared to have been caused by the children hitting their heads,” Heck wrote in a report.

No one involved was taken to the hospital. The children were released to a relative. Heck said Pratt seemed to be lethargic when speaking so he was given a standard field sobriety test. Pratt seemed very unbalanced, Heck wrote.

Pratt was arrested on suspicion of improper tag display, no child restraints, possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, driving under the influence of intoxicants and child endangerment.
