Teen dies in car crash

Ada — An Allen teen died Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash more than 2 miles south of Allen in Pontotoc County on State Highway 48.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Matthew W. McCarn, 18, died when the 2007 GMC pickup he was driving ran off the road to the right. Troopers say the driver overcorrected and the vehicle rolled a number of times before coming to rest on its side. The driver was ejected an unknown distance.

Trooper Alan Fortner listed the cause of the collision as unsafe speed for the curve. Fortner said the vehicle was equipped with seat belts, but were not worn by McCarn.
