Ada restaurant celebrates a dozen years of fine cuisine

Ada —  

The story of Papa Gjorgjo in downtown Ada began 12 years ago, when owner George Veliu discovered that restaurant space was available on Main Street.

The Ada man used to own the Italian Villa restaurant on Mississippi Street, but he decided to open a new restaurant on Main Street, said his wife and co-owner, Gay Veliu. The new place, Papa Gjorgjo, opened at 112 E. Main St. in February 2001.

Seven years later, the Velius expanded their operation by opening Papa Gjorgjo North at 1600 N. Mississippi St.
