The Ada News

Ada — Three people were injured when their vehicles collided Monday afternoon west of Stratford.

Ada resident Charles E. Shannon was southbound on North County Road 3360 and failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. His 1999 Chevrolet four-door car struck a 2011 Dodge SUV driven by Dougherty resident Sunee L. Gibson.

The SUV rolled over into the eastbound lane of state Highway 19 and was struck by a 2003 Dodge pickup truck driven by Elmore City resident Christopher M. Soto. Soto’s truck went off the right side of the road and  struck a fence.

Shannon, 31, was airlifted to Norman Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition with internal injuries. He was treated and released.

Gibson, 33, was admitted to Pauls Valley Hospital in stable condition with internal injuries. Soto, 32, was airlifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was admitted in serious condition with internal trunk and arm injuries.

A Pauls Valley Hospital spokeswoman said that federal regulations prevented her from releasing updates on Gibson’s condition. Information on Soto’s condition was not available.
