Local school chiefs not sure they back gun-toting teachers

Last week’s mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school has prompted state and federal officials to look at ways to prevent future atta

   In Oklahoma, Rep. Mark McCullough has proposed allowing teachers and principals who complete weapons training to carry guns on school property.

“I trust my children to my local teachers and principal every day,” the Sapulpa Republican said this week in a news release. “I want to give these trusted, responsible educators the ability to defend themselves and our children in the same way any normal parent would, in the face of the unthinkable.”
