Ada — Today we are honoring veterans for their service to this country and recognition of their sacrifices made during war-time. I have a love of old photographs and a fascination for photos depicting soldiers going about their daily routine.

The photo at right was discovered at a rummage sale several years ago and given to me by an acquaintance who knew I would cherish it. I do not know who he is or where he lived. However, in a handwritten note at the bottom of the photo was a note to the soldier's sister, dated 1919 and signed "Frank."

Above are a couple of photos discovered tucked between the pages of books acquired from a used book store. Among the 12 photos found were two portraits of Ralph W. Kelley. Many of the photos are identified as World War II era and depict Ralph in Chantilly, France. Written on another photo was "We visited Denice and Mother — '54, Molis, Mrs. Nitard, Denice, Ralph.

If anyone can identify the soldiers, please contact Brenda Tollett at adanewslifestyle@cableone.net or phone 580-310-7521.
