Man seriously injured; law seeks hit-and-run driver

Ada —

A Norman man was seriously injured when he crashed a motorcycle into a vehicle, the driver of which fled the scene afterwards.

The wreck occurred at 5:11 p.m. on Latta Road in front of Holcim Cement. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Alan Fortner said an unknown silver vehicle turned from a county road into the path of a 2005 Harley Davidson driven north on Latta Road by 59-year-old John Nicely of Norman. Nicely was thrown during the wreck and suffered head injuries. The driver of the silver vehicle left the scene. Nicely was taken by Valley View EMS to Valley View Regional Hospital, then taken by Eagle Med to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in serious condition.

Fortner said in a report Nicely was not wearing a helmet and the wreck is under investigation.
