Amy Ford given Natalea Watkins Communicator of the Year Award

Ada — East Central University Director of Communications and Marketing Amy (Garcia) Ford was presented the Natalea Watkins Communicator of the Year Award for 2013 on Wednesday at the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association’s Fall Workshop in the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Ford was nominated for the award by virtue of her leadership that has had a positive influence for ECU as well as for the state system of higher education.

OCPRA was founded in 1969 and Ford is the 10th person in the state to receive this honor.

Ford graduated from ECU in 1996 and Sulphur High School in 1992. Pictured with Ford is Oklahoma State University Director of Communications Gary Shutt, who was the 2012 winner of the award.
