Fire victims give their thanks

Ada — Editor, The Ada News:

I would like to take a moment to say “thank you.” These two simple words don’t seem to express the gratitude I feel. I don’t think there are any words that ever could. In the days and weeks since the devastating house fire that took my family’s home as well as all of our possessions, the outpouring of help, love, and generosity has been overwhelming. It was in this,  our darkest hour, that beacons of light began to appear. As I said before, there are no words to express how blessed we are to have so many wonderful people in our lives. My family would like to sincerely thank every one who has given money, food, furniture, clothing, personal items, bedding, toys, prayers, thoughts, and hugs! Everything is helping us to begin again, and is much appreciated.

The following people have touched our lives in immeasurable ways. The American Red Cross, Mike Wood, Homer Elementary counselor; Vicki Wilson, Homer Elementary principal; Janna Davis, Homer Elementary principal; Jana Webb, Byng Jr. High counselor; Kevin Wilson, Byng Jr. High principal; Homer Elementary and Byng Jr. High parents, students, and faculty; The Byng Band Boosters, all my friends and extended family at LegalShield (previously known as Pre-Paid Legal Service) especially those in the support services department (formerly membership administration). Melissa Rollins, Rita Harris, Mary Haupt, Holly Donaghey and family; Paula and Keith McDonald, Dorothy and Billy Flowers, Judy and Rex Blackburn, Angela and Bill Wood, Connie Ragland, Lana Smith, Sara McElwee and family; Deb Shultz, Katie Dobbs, Kim Harris and family, Abby and Richard Barron, Diana and Larry McClellan, Dave Herriman and family, Linda Harris. Stephanie Fletcher and family, Joe and Amber Brooks, Geraldine Anderson, June Duck, Phyllis Duck, Crystal Miller and family; Connie Coronado and family; Roger and Elida Young; Gamaliel Gutierrex, Eric and Stacie Young, Donna Allison, Brenda Blankenship, Holly Murphy, Linda and Scott Rinehart, Donna Birdwell, Ruby Tibbs and family, Jeanine Teel, Sharon Keeling. Beverly Rinehart, Naomi Cathey, Harmony Baptist Church, Fittstown Church of Christ, Stonewall Freewill Baptist Church, and the numerous others I know I am forgetting.

It is through this tragedy that I have realized how much God has blessed me. I am thankful everyday for His unyielding strength and love. As my family and I continue to rebuild our lives, I know that through Him all things are possible!

We are eternally grateful to all.
