• Al-Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Friday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

• Ada Narcotics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Reaper Baptist Church, 3301 N. Broadway. For more information, call 580-320-9984.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, downstairs. 

 

SATURDAY

• American Legion Post 72 hosts bingo each Saturday night. Mini games begin at 6 p.m. and regular bingo begins at 7 p.m. Snack bar items are available. 

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, downstairs. 

SUNDAY 

JUNE 1, 2014

• A grand opening and open house celebration will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 1, for the Pruitt Center for Recovery. The event is open to the public and will include tours of the new facility, food and refreshments. The new SOAR facility is located at 115 N. Oak Ave. in Ada. 

• Donations are requested for the maintenance of Athens Cemetery. For more information, call Rufus Clark at 580-332-2434.

• Oklahoma Farm Bureau Safety Services is presenting an auto accident prevention course from 6 to 9 p.m. June 16 and 17 at the Pontotoc County Farm Bureau office in Ada. Upon earning the vehicle accident prevention course certificate, one would be eligible to receive a discount on auto insurance. The class is open to the public. • Donations are requested for the Franks Cemetery Fund. Donations can be mailed to PO Box 154, Fittstown, OK 74842, or call Don Reeves at 580-272-4696.

JUNE 2, 2014

• Pontotoc County Historical and Genealogical Society's Mattie Logsdon Memorial Library, 221 W. 16th St., is open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays. For more information, call Katherine Howry at 332-5528.

• The board of directors of the Happyland Volunteer Fire Department meets at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the fire station at 22680 CR 1530 in Ada. Should the first Monday fall on a holiday, the meeting will be held the following Monday at the same time and location.

  • Martin family holds reunion

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
