Mearl and Geneva Gregory of Stonewall recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
They were married Oct. 2, 1943, in Tupelo. Friends and family of that time period told them that “it would never last.”
Mr. Gregory retired from Brockway Glass in Ada after 37 years of service. Mrs. Gregory worked 12 years at Case and Gibson Insurance Agency in Stonewall and has been a homemaker for many years. They have enjoyed traveling, square dancing, attending Blue Grass Festivals, and hosting family reunions over the years.
They are members of First Baptist Church in Stonewall.
Mearl and Geneva have five children, Archie Gregory, Gene Gregory, Ronald Gregory, Mary Sutherland, all of Ada, and Donald Gregory of Lakeland, Fla. The Gregorys have 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
To celebrate their anniversary, a reception was held at the Chickasaw Community Building in Stonewall. Many friends and family attended.
