Bible study scheduled on worldwide number system

New Life Apostolic Faith Church conducts a special Bible study on Revelation 13 about how a new chip will be put into each person in the world. Church leaders say the Bible teaches against this number system that they say will happen in 2017. For more information, phone M.D. Bates, pastor, at 436-1765.


Community Thanksgiving service scheduled Nov. 24

The 21st annual community Thanksgiving service will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 24 at Ada First Baptist Church, 521 S. Broadway. This year’s speaker will be the Rev. Bob Langston, director of local missions and pastoral care at First United Methodist Church.


Old-fashioned tent revival begins Oct. 13 at Ada church

Ada Baptist Temple hosts an old-fashioned tent revival Sunday, Oct. 13, through Wednesday,  Oct. 16.

The revival will kick off at 10 a.m. with Robert Eberle, pastor, preaching the first sermon on the church's new property. Evangelist Brian Fisher from Fort Worth, Texas, will preach Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The tent meeting will be held one mile north of Walmart on Country Club Road.

Members of the church will serve dinner on the grounds after the morning service. The event is open to the public.

Church conducts Indian taco sale to benefit ministries fund

Faith Assembly of God Church, 400 N.W. Richardson Loop, hosts an Indian taco sale from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. Cost of taco, drink and dessert is $6. 

Dine in or carry out available. All proceeds go to benefit Faith Women's Ministries Fund.


Bread of Life Ministry to feed hungry residents in Ada area

Bread of Life Ministry, hosted by Ada First Baptist Church, feeds the hungry in the Ada community from 5:30-6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month in the church dining room, 521 S. Broadway.


Larry Mosely speaks at New Beginnings Church

Evangelist Larry Mosely will be speaking during a revival Oct.13-14 at New Beginnings Church. Service times are 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13; and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14.

The church is located two miles east of Stratford on state Highway 19.

Tickets on sale for annual Smorgasbord


The 63rd annual St. Joseph Smorgasbord Dinner will be held Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013.   Serving times are 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. 

The dinner will be served in the parish hall located at 1300 East Beverly. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (4 to 10 years of age) and can be purchased from parishioners or by contacting the parish office.  

The smorgasbord dinner will serve the traditional dishes that include Swedish meatballs, garlic cheese grits, broccoli casserole, curried fruit, and turkey along with other favorite dishes.   The popular tarts, cupcakes and assorted “just mini’s” desserts will round out the menu.  The bazaar will be located in the educational building.  On display will be a selection of candies, pies, cakes, breads, and handmade crafts and face painting for the children. A raffle will be held to win a Kindle Fire HDX. The drawing will take place at the end of the dinner and the winner need not be present to win.
