Life Community Church (LCC) continues its four week “Family Matters” series with a special presentation Sunday, Sept. 22.
“Five Love Languages” will be presented by Dr. Jerry Duncan, an ordained minister and licensed psychologist who practices in Ada and Moore. This event is open to the public and those interested are welcome to attend.
Duncan’s presentation will focus on the five love languages highlighted in the Gary Chapman’s 1995 book, The Five Love Languages, including words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, acts of service and physical touch. In this presentation, Duncan will discuss the importance of these “love languages” for couples and for the family as a whole.
“As both an ordained minister and licensed psychologist with experience in both couples and family counseling, Dr. Jerry Duncan brings special insight into the issues facing today’s families,” LCC Senior Pastor Mickey Keith said. “We look forward to hearing both his testimony and his professional expertise on why ‘Family Matters’ more than ever.”
The Sunday service will also include participation by Thomas Buckley, pastor of Judah Worship Center in Yukon. “Pastor T,” as he is known, is also the youth minister for the Independent Assemblies (IA), a national organization of approximately 140 independent Christian Churches of which Keith is the president.
Duncan is a Fellow in the Academy of Counseling Psychologists, an approved supervisor in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a certified educator for the National Council on Family Relations. He has taught psychology courses at Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma Medical School and East Central University.
