Foster, Gates exchange vows

Ada — Exchanging wedding vows June 8, 2013, were Haley Brett Foster and Zackery Sylas Gates, both of Ada. Claude Ledbetter officiated the 7 p.m. outdoor ceremony at the home of Brett and Jennifer Foster.

The bride is the daughter of Brett and Jennifer Foster, Ada. She is the granddaughter of Jack and Sherrill Walcott and Beverly Foster, all of Ada.

Parents of the bridegroom are Samanatha Gates and Chris and Roberta Keeling, all of Stratford. Grandparents are Ben and Patsy Hawkins, Edmond.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was Shanan Foster, sister of the bride, Ada. Bridesmaids were Misti Ray, cousin of the bride, Ada; Kristy Lollar, sister of the bridegroom, Broken Arrow; Madison Wear, Sami Jo Scifres and Bethany Brewer, all of Ada.

Cody Watts, Stratford, was best man. Groomsmen were Justin Hannah, Stratford; Christopher Keeling, brother of the bridegroom, Stratford; Keith Cottrell, Stratford; Zak Crabtree, Bowlegs; and Logan Cobb, Ada.

Bodey Ray, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Flowergirl was Keyli Hawkins, cousin of the bridegroom.

Parents of the bride hosted a reception at their home following the ceremony. Guests enjoyed food and dancing on a dance floor made by the bride's father.

Reception assistant was Katherine Copeland, Ada, server of cakes. Reception food and cakes were made by Darlene Lee.

The bride's cake was a single cake with the couple's initials on top with layers of cupcakes tiering down, adorned with purple flowers. The bridegroom's table held an assortment of cheesecakes.

The couple is at home in Ada. The bride is employed by the district attorney's office. The bridegroom is employed by Burlington Northen Sante Fe Railroad and is a member of the Field Artillery at Oklahoma National Guard.

Wedding colors were purple and navy blue.

The bride wore a soft white gown with chiffon embroidered lace and a chapel-length veil that was accented with lace from her parent's wedding and made by the bride's grandmother.

  • Pontotoc County Quilt Show Results

    Pontotoc County Home and Community Education Clubs held their annual quilt show last week with 97 judged quilts and 28 for-show-only for a grand total of 125 quilts hanging at the two-day show. The event drew over 300 visitors from as far as Tennessee. Eleven vendors were on hand and sold quilting fabric and notions. The following are the results of the judged quilts:
