Jay Dee Thys and Aundria Finley Thys

Ada —

Jay Dee Thys and Aundria Finley were united in marriage May 18, 1963, at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee.

After their marriage, they established their home in Ada, where Jay Dee was an insurance adjuster. A year or so later, Aundria became the secretary at Oak Avenue Baptist Church and worked there several years. About the time Aundria became secretary, Jay Dee was hired as a teller at Oklahoma State Bank, retiring nearly 20 years later as a loan officer.

After that time, they owned the Ada Brick plant. Aundria spent numerous years as a commercial insurance agent with the Thompson Agency and now enjoys spending time with Jay Dee while he owns and operates a small trucking business.

Jay Dee and Aundria are past members of the Salvation Army Board and Ladies Auxiliary, and they have done other volunteer work in and around Ada. They are active members of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Byng and the Banner Baptist Association. They also like visiting with friends over coffee and working in the yard.

Jay Dee and Aundria’s children are Eric of Hodgen and Kandi Malphrus and her husband, David, of Fort Worth, Texas. Their grandchildren are Gillian Thys and Andrew and Simon Malphrus.

They enjoy spending time and doing activities with their grandchildren.
