Catie Newport to wed Clovis Hamilton

Ada —

Catie Jill Newport and Clovis McLane Hamilton are exchanging vows June 1, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Ada, with the Rev. Donald Jacob officiating.

The bride to be is the daughter of Steve and D.D. DeCoteau-Jacob, Ada, and Blake Newport, Monahans, Texas. Catie is the granddaughter of Gene and Rose Jefferson, Ada, Peggy Newport, Monahans, Texas, and Donald Jacob, Ada, and the late Diane Jacob. Catie is the great-granddaughter of the late Veron and Mary Wilson and the late Joseph and Minnie Shields.

The future bride is a 2010 graduate of Ada High School in Ada. She is a junior at East Central University, majoring in business administration management. Catie is currently employed with the Chickasaw Nation in the department of Culture and Humanities.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dennis Hamilton, Mill Creek, and Danny and Kathy Marris, Madill. Clovis is the grandson of Oretha Ledford, Marlow,  and the late Andris “Yellow Wolf" Hamilton and the late Harrison McLane Pershica and Mona Franics Pershica.

Clovis is a 2002 graduate of Madill High school in Madill. In 2008, he graduated with a bachelor's degree from East Central University, majoring in kinesiology with a concentration in recreation and minoring in Native American Studies. Clovis is employed with the Chickasaw Nation as a language outreach specialist for the Division of History and Culture.

The couple will reside in Ada.
