Men's conference scheduled in Ada

ADA — A free men's conference is from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. June 15 at Chickasaw Communtiy Center, 700 N. Mississippi in Ada. A barbecue lunch will be provided.

Guest speakers are Jody Ham and Brad Houchen, pastors. Theme for the conference is "Stained. It's OK to not be OK, it's just not OK to stay that way."

 

Music important part of ministry at ABT

ADA — Music is an important part of the ministry at Ada Baptist Temple. The music director, Caleb Prenevost, directs congregational singing and adult choir. They are accompanied by three pianos, an organ, drums and a violin.

JoAnn Hollars leads the junior choir, which is made up of first- through sixth-grade students. There are a variety of soloists and groups who round out the music program.

Homecoming set at Sunshine community

ROFF — The Sunshine community, located seven miles southeast of Roff, hosts its annual homecoming Sunday, June 2. Services begin at 10 a.m., with Don Parr giving the gospel message.

The event is open to the public.

 

Memorial singing set at Chickasaw Center Friday

ADA — The Rev. Eugene Marrs Memorial Singing is from 6 p.m. until midnight today at Chickasaw Community Center, 700 N. Mississippi.

Singers include Al Brown and Company of Ada, Lakeside Trio of Holdenville, Jan and Virgil of Walters, Scrap Iron ofAda, Jerry Sellers of Ada, Living Waters of Tishomingo and Corner Stones of McAlester. Master of ceremonies is Bill Alexander.

Supper will be served at 5 p.m. and singing begins at 6 p.m. Concession food will be available at 7:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public.

 

Local church features 'handwriting on the wall'

ADA — New Life Apostolic Church welcomes area residents to drive by the church's activity center on 32nd Street and see "The handwriting on the wall."

Food ministry set Saturday at Philemon Baptist

ADA — Philemon Baptist Church, 3101 Ware Drive in Ada, hosts a food ministry from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday. For more information, phone 332-2063.
